THE WORK

I’d like to think this portfolio is best summarized as the power of the unseen. The “seen” being the visible work, the output. The “unseen” is all that invisible input, making it possible. This might conjure the idiomatic phrase, HOW THE SAUSAGE IS MADE—defined by Merriam-Webster as the practical and often unpleasant or messy aspects of a process that are usually not made public. This description does justice to the complexity of efforts making many of these projects possible.

With sausage-making you have: farming, livestock rearing, slaughtering, butchering, trimming, grinding, mixing, seasoning, stuffing, linking, cooking and packaging. That's a lot of steps (some rather grotesque), involving many different folks over a lengthy period of time – all for a simple piece of food consumed in a matter of minutes. Our work is much of the same in its own right. The tangible unseens of complex backend, organizational systems; with spreadsheets and documentation galore organized neatly amongst server/drive folders. Media plans, deliveries, countless rounds of strategy before even devising a concept. And the subjective unseen are the relationships fostered and managed amongst clients, stakeholders, vendors, partners, teammates, resources, you name it. Endless reviews, team rituals, information gathering, validating, implementing and delivering smoothly.

Through all of this I’ve been fortunate in having access to a team of world class talent. The hundreds, sometimes thousands, of hours poured into something by multiple people are hard to encapsulate. Always on tight timelines, often even tighter on budget—I’d like to consider this a nod to all that.

It's also worth nothing this is the work that "made it", but not accounting for the countless projects pivoted or killed along the way for whatever reason. Those had their lessons too.

MYSELF

My Venn diagram description as a producer falls right between Brand and Project Management. I strive to be a champion of creative, but a diplomatic defender of realities when needed. Ready to pushback, but also down to roll with it.

Equally as versed in Operations as executing large-scale, integrated marketing campaigns with brand strategies that resonate with target audiences and achieve various business objectives.

My experience lends itself to just about any medium and form of content – overseeing projects spanning video, static, experiential, social, OOH, websites, programmatic, back-end, front-end, VR, AR, and so on.

Adaptability is one of the essentials for each project’s success – I do not latch onto a singular process, but instead work with the team to tailor a workflow that is most optimized for our goals yet has flexibility to adjust along the way as we evaluate. My goal for each project is to have a well-oiled operation that is more helpful than burdensome, and be personally enabled to contribute to and foster the strategy and creativity of the work.
